Simon Gurner - Managing Director

After years in a career where a meticulous attention to detail was an essential part of engineering cars for Ford, Simon decided to explore his entrepreneurial ambitions and focus his energy and enthusiasm in to what was then his part time obsession, IT.

Simon invested everything he had and made the life changing decision to turn his obsession for all that this IT, in to his full-time career and business. Simon, releasing the inner computer geek he always knew himself to be, became the leading IT services professional we all know and love today, Sunrise Technologies was born.

Simon has grown Sunrise into one of the region’s most successful IT Service and Support businesses, his untainted reputation and drive to ensure his business, his teams and his clients remain at the forefront of IT excellence, ensures outstanding services to hundreds of loyal customers every day.

Gareth Hill - Operations Manager and VCIO

From a very early age Gareth was destined for a life surrounded by computers. As a child he regularly built, fixed and upgraded his family’s PC’s and electrical equipment. His self-taught skills, knowledge and love of IT lead him to a long career in international IT Services having worked in IT departments for large global corporate organisations. Here he obtained numerous professional qualifications and gained valuable insights in to complex IT infrastructures.

An established and extremely experience member of the business, Gareth plays a crucial part in the success of Sunrise. As Technical Manager, Gareth helps Simon to maintain the standards of service expected by our clients, teaching and mentoring our engineers, new and old, he is fixated on his team delivering fast, efficient and friendly support to our customers.

Richard Ward - Professional Services

Richard has been working in IT since leaving college in 1996. He specialises in providing Professional Services, managing the more complex projects for our clients. Additionally, Richard is the Sunrise VCIO and works closely with the Technical Alignment team and our customers to ensure that we are formulating key strategic IT goals that suit the customer’s budget. Outside of the office, he likes to switch off his IT brain and spend time with his family.

Dave Freeman - Technical Alignment

Dave has been in the IT industry for over 25 years, starting as a VBA programmer and then moving into technical support roles. After managing an internal IT department, he transitioned to MSP support and has not looked back. For Sunrise, Dave specialises in technical alignment, drawing on his 20+ years of experience in technical support. The most interesting development he’s seen in the industry is the emergence of cloud technologies, which he continues to keep a close eye on.

Nick Scotney - Lead Systems Developer

After receiving his Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Computer Science from the Nottingham Trent University, Nick established himself as a leading thinker in the field of software development. His passion brings business efficiency enhancement to Sunrise clients, providing smart application of automation techniques, and bridging the gap between non-integrated systems that would otherwise be independent.

Nick’s software development skills have allowed our clients ideas to become a reality, he works across every department in Sunrise helping to improve working practices for both the Sunrise business and services we are able to offer our clients.

Kathryn Corrigan – Accounting Manager

Kathryn has spent the last ten years casting a keen eye on the company’s finances, and with a 22 year back history in the banking sector, Sunrise has been lucky to have her as part of the team.

Working closely to the service engineering team, Kathryn has become accustomed to “Geek Speak” defined as the jargon and special vocabulary used by those immersed in computers and other fields of information technology. (or IT nerds to the outside world)

Shirley Thompson - Credit Control

Shirley is a skilled member of the Sunrise team with a wealth of experience in credit control. She is always willing to go the extra mile to ensure that issues are resolved quickly and efficiently. Her contributions have helped to ensure that Sunrise maintains a strong financial position and is regarded as a reliable and trustworthy partner by its clients.

Emma Reynolds - Office Manager / Procurement

As the Office Administrator and Customer Fulfilment Specialist at Sunrise, Emma brings many years of experience to the role. Emma is not only skilled at managing Customer enquiries and handling administrative tasks on a daily basis, but is also known for her friendly demeanour and professionalism in dealing with clients and members of the team. Her contributions and positive attitude make her an essential part of the Sunrise team.

Ryan Bright - Service Desk Manager

Ryan is a highly skilled Helpdesk Engineer and leader and has been an essential part of the Sunrise Technologies team for over 9 years.

Ryan’s dedication and passion for his work have enabled him to excel in his role, providing expert support to our clients. As Service Desk Manager, Ryan is responsible for ensuring our Helpdesk team runs smoothly and efficiently, providing timely solutions to our client’s issues.

Jack Bailey - Service Desk Engineer

Jack, our Service Desk Engineer, is passionate about all things IT. Jack’s journey started with a Games & Animation course in college, where he got his hands on IT basics and dabbled in 2D game creation. Last year, he added the CompTIA A+ certification to his toolkit, diving into various IT areas and discovering an interest in cyber security. Jack provides essential support and solutions to ensure the smooth operation of our customers IT.

Owen Woodcock - Service Desk Engineer

Owen’s journey started in college where he took an extended diploma in IT. Owen is a skilled Service Desk Engineer, providing essential technical support and solutions to our clients. He is particularly interested in hardware and graphic design. Owen keeps up to date with the latest developments in the tech world, ensuring he stays at the forefront of the industry to deliver top-notch service.

Ruslans Brujs - Field Support Engineer

Rus, our Field Support Engineer, boasts over 8 years of IT experience. He’s worked with major financial firms, specialising in networking, storage, business continuity, and compliance. While IT was part of his curriculum at school, his true passion was ignited through hands-on experience. Rus provides on-site technical expertise for our clients ensuring seamless operations and timely resolutions. He is fascinated by the ever-evolving IT industry and is always eager to embrace technological change and improvements.
